THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WILLIAMS LAND (K de Melo) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, SNIPER SHOT (*T Gumede) was squeezed out. b) BORN TO PERFORM (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 400m. c) SNIPER SHOT (*T Gumede) was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and 250m. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, LETABA (D Dillon) was bumped in by SNIPER SHOT (*T Gumede) which shifted in to continue its run. d) SPIRIT OF MY FATE (S Moodley) shifted out away from the crop between the 200m and 150m. e) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss with PLYMOUTH ROCK in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey K de Melo reported that WILLIAMS LAND coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) Trainer D Bosch signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8, in that he presented BORN TO PERFORM in the parade ring incorrectly equipped for this race. Accordingly, a penalty of R250 was imposed. h) CHATTERTONS KEEPER (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
