THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MILAN'S PRINCESS (M Yeni) was unruly in the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer B D Botes was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 200m, FREED FROM DESIRE (W Kennedy) was carried out by TANZANITE QUEEN (S Khumalo), which hung out and shifted out away from the crop from the 400m. Thereafter, when racing in close proximity, Jockey S Khumalo (TANZANITE QUEEN) accidentally struck the crop out of Jockey W Kennedy's (FREED FROM DESIRE) hand. Jockey S Khumalo appeared before the Board, was shown patrol film of this race and was advised to make more of an effort to keep his mounts straight in races. Jockey S Khumalo was also advised to exercise more care when using his crop in close proximity of other riders and horses. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MILAN'S PRINCESS, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 60 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion on a raceday. Suspension dates: 26 September 2021 to the 24 November 2021. MILAN'S PRINCESS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B D Botes was advised. When assessing the suspension, the Board took into consideration this filly's poor record with regard to the starting stalls. c) TANZANITE QUEEN (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (Ah). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) QUEEN BOMI abnormal respiratory noise; not striding out right hind. b) FREED FROM DESIRE scalp wound right hind. c) RUN APRIL RUN small cut in right nostril.
