THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A BLOSSOM FELL (W Kennedy) and BLACK JOKER (NZ) (A Marcus) were carried out by RED HOT CHILI GIRL (K de Melo) which jumped out. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1200m, A BLOSSOM FELL (W Kennedy) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of BLACK JOKER (A Marcus) which rolled in. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that RED HOT CHILI GIRL took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey S Brown signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse AMBLE INN more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Brown struck the horse AMBLE INN, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. d) SYMMETRY (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D R Drier advised (ML).
