THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIGHT SONG (A Marcus) jumped awkwardly and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 800m, FIGHT SONG (A Marcus) became severely unbalanced behind after taking an awkward stride. b) FAVOUR (K de Melo) shifted out to continue its run at the 200m. c) Jockey A Marcus (FIGHT SONG) appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to ensure that he rides his mounts to the end of the race so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. In assessing the sanction in this matter, the Board took into consideration that there was no stake for the 5th placing in this race and therefore there was no financial prejudice to any interested parties. Consequently, a penalty of a verbal reprimand was imposed rather than a fine as would have been the norm had there been a 5th stake in this race. d) SPRING FLING (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
