THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VEGAS GOLD (A Marcus) stumbled severely leaving the stalls. b) YORKSHIRE (S Brown), SO DACHA (N Patel) and ITSA KINDA (J Gates) lost 1 length, respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) IRON BARK (M V'Rensburg) raced wide in the early and middle stages. b) At the 800m, NDAKA (A Arries) was steadied momentarily in anticipation of being close to the heels of JOSHUA HOTSNAKE (D Dillon) which shifted inwards. Jockey D Dillon (JOSHUA HOTSNAKE) appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ensure that there is sufficient clearance before he elects to shift ground in races. c) Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3, in that as the ride of NDAKA, he failed to ride this colt out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining 5th position. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. d) SIKH THE MAGIC (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (ML).
