THE STARTER REPORTED A) CRUISE ALONG and SCARBOROUGH FAIR were slow into stride. B) GIMME GIMME GIMME was nervous and kicked the back gate in the stalls. C) DURTY NELLY was nervous and fly jumped leaving the stalls. D) CHILE JAM was nervous and stood awkwardly in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Prior to the commencement of the loading process for this race, heavy mist descended over the Fairview Racecourse resulting in extremely poor visibility. As a safety precaution, horses and riders were re-called to the saddling enclosure until safe racing conditions returned. This caused a delay to the start of this race and the starting times for races 6, 7 and 8 were re-scheduled. B) CHILE JAM (X Ndlovu) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. C) Jockey T M Musekiwa reported that he felt something amiss with DURTY NELLY in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) The winner ENCRYPTION was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer S B Kotzen advised (LM). THERE WERE NO JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) DURTY NELLY Jockey T M Musekiwa carried 0.5 Kg overweight, weighed out at 52.5 Kgs.
