THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SEVENTH GEAR (G Behr) raced wide without cover on the bend. b) SEEKING THE STARS (A Marcus) and SILVER OPERATOR (*J Jacobs) were hanging out in the latter stages. c) Jockey D Ashby, the rider of SNOW REPORT, reported this gelding coughed post-race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockeys G van Niekerk and R Fourie, the riders of NEXUS and SPEED MACHINE respectively, reported they felt something amiss with these geldings. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. e) SEEKING THE STARS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
