THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ENCHANTED CREEK (G Behr) pulled hard in the early stages. b) Leaving the 200m CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) rolled in towards DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer) and had to be straightened. Thereafter CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) shifted in slightly, was straightened and carried DO ANGELS CRY (A Domeyer) off a straight line marginally at the 150m . Jockey A Domeyer (DO ANGELS CRY) called for a race review regarding this incident which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey A Domeyer the rider of the 2nd placed horse DO ANGELS CRY against the winner CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) on the grounds of interference and intimidation in the closing stages. The Objection Board, after giving due regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol films and giving consideration of the margin of 0,1 of a length between the two horses concerned, could not be satisfied to the requisite degree that DO ANGELS CRY would have finished ahead of CELTIC NIGHT had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection. Jockey A Domeyer's deposit was refunded. c) Jockey O Noach, the rider of FYNBOS, reported this filly did not stride out in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) CELTIC NIGHT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
