THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) MIND SET (*S Njokwe) was difficult and stubborn to load.
b) BINGIN BEACH (S Moodley) and FLAMING LASS (A Arries) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) SOFIA ERIN (J Gates) raced wide and awkwardly in the early and middle stages.
b) Jockey J Gates (SOFIA ERIN) appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of this race and was advised to ensure that he rides his mounts out to the end of the race.
c) In the concluding stages, DIAMONDS 'N DUST (R Fourie) which rolled out, came together and raced in close proximity with LADY CATHERINE (*R Venniker) which was hanging in from the 400m and thereafter, shifted in away from the crop.
A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into the above incident. However, after reviewing the patrol films of the race with Jockey R Fourie and Trainer C Binda, no further action was taken.
d) Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse FLAMING LASS more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey A Arries struck the horse FLAMING LASS, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed.
e) LADY CATHERINE (*R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (ML).

b) AUNTY LIZZY was ridden by Jockey A Mgudlwa (advised 03.10.21/7h57).

d) DIAMONDS 'N DUST raced equipped with blinkers (advised 29.09.21/3h30).
e) QUEEN NIYABAH was ridden by Jockey G Wright.
