THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LETSDOIT (D Schwarz) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) ROSENWIND (S Khumalo) and TIKI TAKA (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MIDNIGHT BADGER (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop from the 150m. b) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking ROSENWIND more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 2,000.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (14) and his recent record in relation to this Rule and Guideline. c) ROSENWIND (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
