THE STARTER REPORTED A) CANARY WALK was nervous in the stalls. B) FLOWER SELLER and JET BOMBER were stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. C) OVERJOYED was nervous, stood awkwardly in the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. D) CRYSTAL SKY jumped inwards leaving the stalls. E) LAURETTA MIA was slow away and lost 1 length. F) SISTER FREDA was unruly at the start and was stubborn loading. G) COLORAMA was slow into stride. H) GIGGLE AND A TALK was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) FLOWER SELLER (W Kennedy) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led. Trainer G D Smith was advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended. B) CRYSTAL SKY (C Maujean) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led. Trainer S B Kotzen was advised that, in terms of Rule 93.2.4, this filly is suspended indefinitely until such time as it proves tractable whilst cantering to the start, on a race day. C) At approximately the 900m, LADONNA MIA (G Cheyne) clipped the heels of SISTER FREDA (K Steyn) which commenced to race awkwardly. D) CRYSTAL SKY (C Maujean) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. E) At approximately the 300m, FLOWER SELLER (W Kennedy) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of JET BOMBER (S Khathi) which commenced to hang in and thereafter in the concluding stages LAURETTA MIA (L Mxothwa) was carried in by JET BOMBER (S Khathi). F) Jockey R Munger reported that CANARY WALK changed stride continually in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. G) Jockey K Minnie reported that OVERJOYED took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. H) Jockey C Maujean reported that CRYSTAL SKY did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. I) Trainer C Bass-Robinson will be issued with an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that she did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse SISTER FREDA. A penalty of a warning will be imposed. J) The winner JET BOMBER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (SP). Trainer A C Greeff appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of JET BOMBER (S Khathi). However, he could offer the Board no suitable explanation. Consequently, Trainer A C Greeff's attention was drawn to the rules pertaining to in and out running and he was advised that should this filly not maintain a consistent level of form going forward, it may be suspended. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) FLOWER SELLER raced equipped with a compression mask and without blinkers (15:05 - 06/10/2021). B) GIGGLE AND A TALK raced equipped with blinkers (15:05 - 06/10/2021). C) CRYSTAL SKY raced equipped with a compression mask (07:58 - 04/10/2021). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) SISTER FREDA raced in club blue colours. B) OVERJOYED and CRYSTAL SKY examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. C) COLORAMA not striding out left fore and left hind. D) GIGGLE AND A TALK post-race distress syndrome (mild).
