The start of this race was delayed due to the starting gates triggering as the power returned from load shedding. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MASTER OF DESTINY (S Veale) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) At the 200m, VINSON (*R Venniker) which was hanging in from the 400m and shifted in, had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of BORN TO PERFORM (G Wright). c) In the concluding stages, BORN TO PERFORM (G Wright) was carried out when awkwardly placed on the outside of MACH FOUR (C Zackey) which shifted out away from the crop. As a consequence of this incident, Jockey G Wright was unable to assist BORN TO PERFORM to the end of the race. d) Jockey K de Melo reported that COUP DE TETE took no interest in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) GAVEL STRIKE (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D S Bosch advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MASTER OF DESTINY raced with a compression mask. b) BORN TO PERFORM raced without a tongue tie (advised 13.10.21/7h18). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
