THE STARTER REPORTED A) JACKBEQUICK was unruly and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. Trainer G D Smith was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. B) WONDER WOMAN was bumped shortly after the start. C) MAGENTA and SIEVER'S POINT were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Shortly after the start, WONDER WOMAN (R Khathi) was bumped by JACKBEQUICK (W Kennedy) which jumped awkwardly. B) Jockey M V'Rensburg (EMERALD FLAME) accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. C) In the concluding stages, EMERALD FLAME (M V'Rensburg) was carried out marginally by JAMES GORDON JNR (G Cheyne) which shifted out away from the crop. D) The winner JAMES GORDON JNR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). Trainer A C Greeff appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of JAMES GORDON JNR (G Cheyne). However, he could offer the Board no suitable explanation. Consequently, Trainer A C Greeff's attention was drawn to the rules pertaining to in and out running and he was advised that should this gelding not maintain a consistent level of form going forward, it may be suspended. E) The third placed horse JACKBEQUICK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer A C Smith acting on behalf of Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) JACKBEQUICK raced equipped with a compression mask (10:25 - 11/10/2021). B) SOWETO HALL raced equipped with blinkers (15:52 - 14/10/2021). C) WONDER WOMAN raced without blinkers (03:03 - 15/10/2021). D) MAGENTA raced equipped with a tongue tie and blinkers (02:54 - 15/10/2021).
