THE STARTER REPORTED A) SOUND CHECK and ETERNAL HOPE were nervous in the stalls. B) POT SOX was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. C) CHILE JAM was nervous and kicked the back gate in the stalls. D) TRAVEL IN STYLE and PERSICA were slow into stride. E) BLUE DUCHESS was slow away and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with POT SOX in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 200m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) Jockey S Devoy reported that TRAVEL IN STYLE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey R Danielson (HEREINAFTER) accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. D) Jockey R Khathi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse PERSICA. A penalty of a warning was imposed. E) After the running of this race Jockey E Webber was stood down by the Course Medical Officer, dehydration. Rule 25.12 applies. F) The winner SOUND CHECK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) ETERNAL HOPE raced equipped with blinkers and alumite bar shoes in front, alumites behind (08:30 - 14/10/2021). B) PERSICA raced without blinkers (08:39 - 15/10/2021). C) ENGLISH PRINCESS raced equipped with a compression mask (09:48 - 11/10/2021). D) PERSICA Jockey T Gould replaced Jockey R Khathi (14:33 - 15/10/2021). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) ENGLISH PRINCESS Jockey R Munger carried 0.5 Kg overweight, weighed out at 52.7 Kgs. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) BLUE DUCHESS scalp wound right hind. B) CHILE JAM not striding out left hind and injured in stalls, abrasions. C) POT SOX examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. D) TRAVEL IN STYLE severe abnormal respiratory noise and lame right fore. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
