THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CAPE TO RIO (K de Melo) cast her left front shoe while proceeding to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) Jockey S Mbhele appeared before the Board and was shown the recording of the finish and strongly advised to ensure that he rides his mounts to the finish. c) Jockey K de Melo, the rider of CAPE TO RIO, reported that he felt something amiss with this mare and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) TRAVEL MASTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
