THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SIR TALLIN (G Cheyne) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1000m RAVENSTHORPE (R Fourie) had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of PAPER TRAIL (C Bantam). Jockey C Bantam appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure that his mounts are sufficiently clear of other runners and to ensure that he maintains a reasonable pace in similar circumstances. b) SIR TALLIN (G Cheyne) was hanging out from the 300m. c) Jockey D Ashby was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse POWER GRID out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the stewards. Jockey D Ashby signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. d) PAPER TRAIL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
