THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, LITTLE PRINCE (L Hewitson) kicked the back gate resulting in EXCELLARATOR (C Maujean) breaking through the front gates. EXCELLARATOR (C Maujean) was restrained by the Rider, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) ABLAAN (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (PHvdW). c) LITTLE PRINCE (L Hewitson) was slow losing one length. d) INDIGO WINTER (N Klink) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ABLAAN (G Lerena) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with STARRYWINTERNIGHT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey L Hewitson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LITTLE PRINCE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey L Hewitson signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 1,000.00 was imposed. d) ABLAAN (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, advised (LN). e) BALOUCHI (W Kennedy), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) LETSDOIT was ridden by Jockey M van Rensburg (declared 19 October 2021 at 09H08). Stipes permission. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) EXCELLARATOR new ownership: Messrs F Bronkhorst & K G Viljoen & Mrs L L Stekhoven, colours: Turquoise, white stars, red collar and sleeves, white stars, turquoise cap (Sold with engagement).
