THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VENETA (R Danielson) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) ZOFFANY'S GIRL (FR) (K de Melo), RED HOT (C Habib) and SUN BIRD (*C F Dicken) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 150m, STEPINTOSPRING (J Penny) was carried out by SUN BIRD (*C F Dicken), which switched out off the heels of VENETA (R Danielson), which hung in and was corrected. This incident was reviewed by Apprentice C F Dicken, accompanied by Riding Master, Mr R Moore, and Trainer R R Sage. After viewing the footage, all parties were satisfied that this incident had not affected the result and therefore took no further action. b) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that FROSTED ICE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) VENETA (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (DR). d) EXPRESS FLYER (S Khumalo), scratched at the start, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D N Stenger advised (MduP).
