THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VENUS FLYTRAP (*J R Syster) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KOOPA TROOPA proved intractable having earmuffs and a compression mask fitted to her. This filly is restricted from racing equipped with any headgear until such time as she proves tractable saddling and cantering to the start with headgear fitted. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (GF). b) Jockey R Munger felt something amiss with JACKIE SPARKS shortly after the finish line and eased this filly up. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine JACKIE SPARKS. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with SHIKURU in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) JACKIE SPARKS (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer H E Adamson advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) JACKIE SPARKS raced with a compression mask on (declared 20 October 2021 at 10H05). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) JACKIE SPARKS broke down in the pull up area. Fractured left front fetlock. Humanely euthanized. Samples collected for analysis.
