The start of this Race was delayed due to the late arrival of horses and jockeys at the start following a track inspection and maintenance. I WANT IT THAT WAY was slow into stride. BOLIVIA was slow losing one length. QUERARI FERRARI jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. At approximately the 1000m, I WANT IT THAT WAY had to ease off the heels of BOLIVIA which shifted in. Jockey Steyn was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of BOLOVIA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to I WANT IT THAT WAY when he shifted in at the 1000m Jockey Steyn signed an Admission of Guilt and the Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of seven days. EMERALD CREST shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. Apprentice Gates, the rider of QUERARI FERRARI, accidentally dropped his crop at the 250m. QUERARI FERRARI and COSMIC RAY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BOLIVIA - post-race distress. THANDEKHILE - tied up. COSMIC RAY - stirrup rub right side.
