THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FUNKY MUSIC (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SWEPT OFF MY FEET (*X Jacobs) was slow into stride. c) CASTLE DURROW (*R A Venniker) jumped awkwardly losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, SWEPT OFF MY FEET (*X Jacobs) which had come to the end of its run, was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the outside of SUPER AGRA (W Kennedy) and on the inside of SUPER EXCITED (M Yeni) which commenced to hang in. b) At approximately the 300m, SUPER AGRA (W Kennedy) was carried in marginally by SUPER EXCITED (M Yeni) which continued to hang out. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that GOLDEN SPOON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) The saddle on SPARTAN WARRIOR (R Munger) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. e) SUPER EXCITED (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Jena advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) CASTLE DURROW raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 22 October 2021 at 08H33). b) SWEPT OFF MY FEET raced without blinkers (declared 28 October 2021 at 08H34). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GOLDEN SPOON examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) SPARTAN WARRIOR abnormal respiratory noise. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
