THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOTCHIWITCHI (C Habib) was slow into stride. b) BELLE OF BELIZE (W Kennedy) was slow losing one length. c) ANATURA (C Maujean) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey W Kennedy reported that BELLE OF BELIZE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the performance of JUST FABULOUS (S Khumalo), (betting 14/10, distance 13,55 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer A G Laird was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. Jockey S Khumalo is to be questioned regarding any factors which may have accounted for the poor performance of JUST FABULOUS. c) ROSAPRIMA (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D N Stenger advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ROSAPRIMA was ridden by Apprentice R A Venniker who claimed a 2,5kg allowance as declared on 25 October 2021 at 07H08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LEE EXPRESS raced with a pressure halter on (declared 21 October 2021 at 10H30). b) LADY CALAVERA raced with a pressure halter on (declared 21 October 2021 at 10H30). c) ANCESTRAL PRAYER raced with a tongue tie on (declared 27 October 2021 at 11H51). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) JUST FABULOUS examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) BELLE OF BELIZE lame right front. c) LEE EXPRESS moderate post race distress. d) NABEELA coughing. e) GILDA GRAY brush wound left hind and right hind. f) ROCK YOU brush wound right hind. g) HOTCHIWITCHI brush wound left hind.
