D) SABINA'S PRODIGY jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) ALADO'S PRIDE dislodged Jockey M Yeni enroute to the start and bolted. This gelding was brought in hand and was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. B) WINGS OF FIRE (L Mxothwa) pulled hard in the early stages. C) AMERICAN LANDING (G Cheyne) which was disappointed for a clear run from the 600m to the 150m was buffeted between GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (B Fayd'Herbe) and WINGS OF FIRE (L Mxothwa) when attempting to improve into a diminishing run shortly before the finish line. D) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with SAVANNAH BUDDY in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SAVANNAH BUDDY (C Zackey), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer J V A Strydom was advised. F) Jockey M Winnaar signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse SAINT WEST more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R750 fine was imposed. G) Jockey W Kennedy signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse CAIRON more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding on a suitable penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (15) and Jockey Kennedy's record in relation to this rule and guideline. Accordingly, a penalty of a R2000 fine was imposed. H) The winner CAIRON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM).
