THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of DUBAI LIGHTS (A Marcus), which was not persevered with in the latter stages, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey K de Melo was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of BLACK BELT, weighed back in at 53.6kgs, 1.1kg in excess of the weight at which he was declared out (52.5kgs). Jockey de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. c) BLACK BELT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
