THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOOD TRAVELLER (D Schwarz), SKIDOO (A Marcus) and BARNEY MCGREW (D Ashby) were restless in the stalls. b) APOLLO ACE (G Cheyne) and FATEFUL (C Bantam) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The skull cap of the rider of the lead pony, which accompanied GOOD TRAVELLER while proceeding to the start, was dislodged. The stewards examined the skull cap and were satisfied that the skull cap and chin strap complied with the Rules. b) Jockey A Andrews, the rider of CAPTAIN DIZZY, reported this gelding did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of GOOD TRAVELLER (D Schwarz) (Betting 15/10 ; Distance 5.45) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) BARNEY MCGREW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
