THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GRAND DESTINY (R Munger) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) RED SAXON (J Mariba) was slow into stride. c) RA'ED (S Brown) and POTTINGER (*J Solomons) were stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1000m, CROSS EXAMINER (C Zackey) was carried out by RA'ED (S Brown) which commenced to over-race and switched out off the heels of MAGNUM P I (C Maujean). b) At approximately the 600m, EAGLE RIVER (G Lerena) was brushed out by MOTOR CITY HITMAN (W Kennedy) which switched out to avoid running onto the heels of CAPTAIN OF GRIT (M Yeni). Thereafter at approximately the 300m, EAGLE RIVER (G Lerena) had to steady when awkwardly placed between MOTOR CITY HITMAN and CROSS EXAMINER (C Zackey) which rolled in. c) At approximately the 350m, CROSS EXAMINER (C Zackey) was brushed inwards by RA'ED (S Brown) which shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened. d) At approximately the 200m, GLOBAL PLAYER (C Habib) was struck on the chest by a bird. e) In the concluding stages, Jockey C Maujean (MAGNUM P I) accidentally struck the crop out of Jockey C Habib's (GLOBAL PLAYER) hand. f) Jockey C Zackey reported that CROSS EXAMINER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with EAGLE RIVER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) RED SAXON (J Mariba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (DR). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) RED SAXON was ridden by Jockey J Mariba. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) RED SAXON raced without a tongue tie (declared 28 October 2021 at 09H31). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CROSS EXAMINER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) EAGLE RIVER not striding out both hind and improper respiration. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
