THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THUNDER MASALA (G Lerena) lost 2 lengths. b) CASERO (*T Gumede) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TUK TUK (D Dillon) raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, this gelding was hanging in from the 300m. b) VEGAS GOLD (R Danielson) over-raced in the early and middle stages. This resulted in Jockey R Danielson being unable to ride to instructions which were to ride this filly with cover early and allow her to produce its final finishing burst as late as possible. c) At the 200m, Jockey N Patel (GET CARTER) dropped his right side rein at the 200m and only regained it leaving the 150m. d) In the concluding stages, Jockey S Moodley (CHARA SANDS) dropped his crop. e) Apprentice T Gumede signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse CASERO more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Apprentice T Gumede struck the horse CASERO, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. f) TUK TUK (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (DA). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CASERO raced equipped with blinkers (advised 29.10.21/9h53). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
