THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why EDGE OF WINTER (S Moodley) had to ease at the 1100m. b) WILLIAM THE GOOD (M Ntuli) had to be ridden to keep pace with the field throughout however, this gelding became detached from the field from the 400m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) At the 300m, SO DACHA (D De Gouveia) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of SEWELO (*R Venniker) which was hanging out from the 400m. d) In the concluding stages, RUNNING RIFLES (A Marcus) was carried in marginally by GENIE (S Khumalo), which shifted out away from the crop between the 300m and 150m and shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into the above incident. However, after viewing the patrol films of the race with Jockey A Marcus, no further action was taken. e) GENIE (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M J Odendaal acting on behalf of Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WABI SABI was ridden by Jockey L Mohapi. Reserve runner (advised 30.10.21/8h35).
