THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TWICE TO SYDNEY (G Wright) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) JACQUELINE (S Veale) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. b) TWICE TO SYDNEY (G Wright) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. c) TOP ME UP HOLLY (A Marcus) raced without cover throughout and faded in the straight. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse BASETSANA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse BASETSANA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. e) SILVER MARIA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (ML). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PINCH ME raced with cheek pieces (advised 31.10.21/7h28). b) YOU DESERVE IT raced unshod (advised 26.10.21/14h37). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
