THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CONQUER THE ENEMY (T Godden) was squeezed out shortly after the start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) HASTA MANANA (A Marcus) and QUASIFORSURE (D Dillon) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 1400m, AJ'S CAPTAIN (W Kennedy) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the inside of HASTA MANANA (A Marcus) which rolled in. Shortly thereafter, CALLMEMRGREENLIGHT (R Danielson) was carried out wide by HASTA MANANA (A Marcus) which rolled out. c) Jockey G Lerena signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse PURPLE FLAME more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey G Lerena struck the horse PURPLE FLAME, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. d) HASTA MANANA (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer L Karriem acting on behalf of Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (SC). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HASTA MANANA raced equipped with blinkers (advised 31.10.21/7h29). b) AISLING raced without blinkers (advised 28.10.21/7h59). c) PURPLE FLAME raced with a compression mask. d) CALLMEMRGREENLIGHT raced with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SIKHULU : Returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe. b) PROUD MASTER : Cut into left hind. c) QUASIFORSURE : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.
