THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANDALA EFFECT (W Kennedy) was stubborn to load. b) INSPECTOR MORSE (A Mgudlwa) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PRINCE VIHAAN (*R Venniker) raced wide in the early and middle stages. b) At the 350m, QUEUE WING (J Gates) which raced awkwardly into the straight, shifted in when awkwardly placed on the heels of INSPECTOR MORSE (A Mgudlwa). Thereafter, in the concluding stages, MAJESTIC POWER (S Brown) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of QUEUE WING (J Gates) which shifted out away from the crop from the 200m and finished its race off strongly. c) Between the 350m and the 150m, STORY BOOK (M Yeni) and BOMBAY CIRCUS (A Arries) came together and bumped on a number of occasions. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that STORY BOOK did not stride out freely in the running. Trainer D Campbell will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. d) ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (GB) (A Marcus) took a number of awkward strides in the straight. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer M Trott will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. e) Jockey S Brown signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse MAJESTIC POWER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Brown struck the horse MAJESTIC POWER, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning RED SOLE (T Godden), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
