THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) An Inquiry will be opened in order to establish why MOUNT LAUREL (*R Venniker) had to ease at the 1200m. b) CAPOEIRA (G Wright) was baulked between the 400m and the 250m. c) AFTER THE RAIN (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early stages. d) NEWS STREAM (A Arries) was hanging out from the 400m. e) In the concluding stages, CROWN TOWERS (AUS) (A Marcus) which raced wide without cover throughout and compounded in the straight, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of MOUNT LAUREL (*R Venniker) which was hanging in from the 400m. f) AFTER THE RAIN (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Gareth van Zyl advised (SC). g) PRICELESS RULER (S Veale), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Ferrie acting for Trainer D Drier advised (DA).
