THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LA FILLE (S Khumalo) stumbled shortly after the start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TIDE IS HIGH (T Godden) was hanging in from the 400m. b) SHIELD MAIDEN (M Yeni) was hanging in from the 300m. c) At the 100m, MY ELOUISE (*R Venniker) which shifted in away from the crop from the 300m, brushed the inside running rail and took an awkward stride. Consequently, this filly lost significant momentum. Apprentice R Venniker appeared before the Board and was questioned with respect to the above incident. In this regard, she explained that, when MY ELOUISE (*R Venniker) commenced to hang in, she did not want to break this filly's momentum therefore, she elected to allow the horse to shift toward the inside running rail in anticipation that once alongside the rail, MY ELOUISE (*R Venniker) would be guided by the rail and straighten. The Board noted the explanation of Apprentice Venniker, reminded Apprentice Venniker of her obligations when shifting ground, referred the matter to the Academy and requested feedback on the matter prior to the next race meeting. d) SHIELD MAIDEN (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Howells advised (MM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) TIDE IS HIGH raced without ear muffs (advised 08.11.2021 / 07h08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
