THE STARTER REPORTED
A) SON OF ZEUS bumped shortly after the start.
B) GOD OF THUNDER, THE VILLA GRAND and NEVERLETUGO were slow into stride.
C) TIMKAT was stubborn loading.
D) SOFT SPOT was slow into stride and jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) At approximately the 800m, NEVERLETUGO (K Minnie) which over-raced in the early stages had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of SUNSHINE BEACH (M Mjoka).
B) At approximately the 300m, MASTERFUL (J Mphanya) was shifted outwards to avoid running onto the heels of TIMKAT (T Gould). As a consequence, SON OF ZEUS (L Mxothwa) and SOFT SPOT (R Fourie) which was hanging in from the 400m were carried out marginally.
C) Jockeys M Yeni (QUE ES VAR), M Mjoka (SUNSHINE BEACH) and Apprentice Y Ramzan (THE VILLA GRAND) reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
D) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with MOJITO MAGIC in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
E) In view of the performance of SOFT SPOT (R Fourie) (distance 6.05 - betting 23/15) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
F) Trainer J A Visser's attention was drawn to the provisions of Rule 10.5.7 pertaining to THE VILLA GRAND (*Y Ramzan) not having raced for 120 days or more at the time of entries.
G) The winner SON OF ZEUS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer J A Visser advised (LM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES
A) THE VILLA GRAND Apprentice Y Ramzan (-2.5kg) replaced Jockey C Zackey (07:58 -12/11/2021).
B) NEVERLETUGO Jockey K Minnie replaced Jockey C Maujean (08:03 - 12/11/2021).
C) QUE ES VAR raced equipped with a compression mask (08:52 - 12/11/2021).
D) STANTON STREET raced equipped with a tongue tie (17:57 - 11/11/2021).
