THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OH SO SQUISHY (D Schwarz) was reluctant to load and had to be fitted with a hood. b) SERVICE ACE (A Andrews) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped TOP QUALITY (S Khumalo). POLTERGEIST (C Zackey), which was drawn between SERVICE ACE (A Andrews) and TOP QUALITY (S Khumalo), was slow away and then had to steady as a consequence. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start POLTERGEIST (C Zackey), raced onto the heels of GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) and had to be steadied. b) Approaching the 200m MASTER REDOUTE (G van Niekerk) and GLOBAL ALLY (L Mxothwa) brushed. c) In view of the performance of TOP QUALITY (S Khumalo) (Betting 15/10 ; Distance 5.95), which raced awkwardly in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised to report back on the condition of this colt. d) In view of the report from the Starter regarding OH SO SQUISHY (D Schwarz), Trainer GS Kotzen will be advised to have this filly re schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. e) MASTER REDOUTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
