THE STARTER REPORTED A) RAIO was nervous in the stalls, slow away and lost 2 lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding is withdrawn. B) NUSSPLY was nervous in the stalls. C) MOUNT GRACE was stubborn loading, jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, was slow away and lost 2 lengths. D) CAPE POINT was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. E) GRAVITAS was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) After a tardy beginning RAIO (M Mjoka) jumped very awkwardly and gave ground to the field. B) The saddle on JACKSON'S DUEL (*Y Ramzan) slipped forward at the start which placed Apprentice Y Ramzan at a disadvantage. This was confirmed by the Stewards. C) Jockey L Mxothwa (CAPE POINT) dropped his right-side rein shortly before the finish line. D) Jockey S Khumalo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse HIKARU more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R3000 fine was imposed. When assessing penalty, the Stewards considered Jockey Khumalo's poor recent record regarding offences in relation to Rule 58.10.2. E) Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse CAPE POINT more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed. F) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RAIO (M Mjoka), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 20/11/2021 to 26/11/2021 both days included. RAIO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J V A Strydom was advised.
