THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) TROUBADIX (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) At the 900m, BLACK PEPPERCORN (*K Strydom) which raced awkwardly in the early stages, shifted out momentarily in reaction to SNOW TUNE (*R Venniker) which rolled out marginally. Thereafter, BLACK PEPPERCORN (*K Strydom) which also raced awkwardly in the straight, finished its race off strongly.
b) Between the 800m and 600m, HAUTE VAULEE (*K Brewer) had to be restrained off heels on a number of occasions.
c) MVULAZANA (D Dillon) which was hanging in from the 400m, was carried out at the 250m by SNOW TUNE (*R Venniker) which was hanging out from the 300m.
d) Leaving the 300m, CORNER CRUSADE (A Marcus) which was awkwardly placed on the inside of MVULAZANA (D Dillon) and on the outside of CAPE PRINCESS (K de Melo) which was hanging out from the 400m, appeared to lose momentum when reacting to Jockey K de Melo's (CAPE PRINCESS) crop.
e) At the 250m, IRON CHEF (C Zackey) was bumped in by HAUTE VAULEE (*K Brewer) which was carried in and had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of LEOPARD LADY (N Patel) which was carried in by VISION OF WILL (A Arries) which shifted in to continue its run.
Jockey A Arries appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the above incident. In this regard, he explained that he was forced to shift in when awkwardly placed on the heels of CAPE PRINCESS (K de Melo) which shifted out into his running line. However, as he directed his mount in, this filly shifted in more sharply than he anticipated which resulted in the occurrence of the above incident. The Board noted the explanation of Jockey A Arries and ordered a Veterinary examination of VISION OF WILL. Thereafter, after considering the Veterinary report as well as the feedback of Jockey A Arries, the Board noted and accepted the explanation of Jockey A Arries however, he was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground, particularly when his mount has come to the end of its run and he is in close proximity to other horses.
f) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with IRON CHEF in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) In view of the performances of CORNER CRUSADE (A Marcus) (2.55 lengths, 13/2 in the betting) and VISION OF WILL (A Arries) (11.75 lengths, 10/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
h) MVULAZANA (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead advised (SC).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) VISION OF WILL raced with a compression mask.
b) VIEW THE ROSES : The colours should be empire blue, white epaulettes, empire blue sleeves, white stars and cap.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :

b) CORNER CRUSADE : Nothing obvious detected.
c) VISION OF WILL : Not striding out right hind.
