THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SEA CRUISE (S Veale), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 23.11.21 to the 29.11.21. SEA CRUISE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D Campbell was advised. (MS) b) IMPECCABLE YOU (S Moodley) was hanging in from the 300m. c) PRINCESS MARNE (A Mgudlwa) shifted out away from the crop between the 200m and the 100m. d) Jockey S Veale reported that he felt something amiss with SEA CRUISE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse TOSTADA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey G Wright struck the horse TOSTADA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. f) Jockey N Patel signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse LA DREAMER more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey N Patel struck the horse LA DREAMER, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. g) TOSTADA (G Wright), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
