THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AFROPOLITAN (*J Solomons) jumped inwards and AMERICAN SUNSHINE (*P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) DISPLACE TIME (*K A Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, FLAG BEARER (J Penny) had to steady when squeezed out between THE PUNISHER (F Herholdt) and EARL OF CARDIGAN (*R A Venniker) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) AFROPOLITAN (*J Solomons) hung out from the 1000m and thereafter Apprentice Solomons reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) The padding on Apprentice R A Venniker's (EARL OF CARDIGAN) crop became detached at approximately the 350m. d) MOTOR CITY HITMAN (W Kennedy) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. e) DISPLACE TIME (*K A Brewer) hung out from the 200m. f) ARVERNI WARRIOR (C Maujean) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. g) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that SKY RUNNER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) ARVERNI WARRIOR (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) EARL OF CARDIGAN raced equipped with blinkers (declared 24 November 2021 at 19H44). b) AFROPOLITAN raced unshod ((declared 24 November 2021 at 15H33). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ALABASTOR abnormal respiratory noise. b) MOTOR CITY HITMAN not striding out right hind. c) SKY RUNNER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. d) AFROPOLITAN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. e) EAST COAST SWING choked up and abnormal respiratory noise.
