NEXT MEETING 1 DECEMBER 2021 FM 77 DIVIDED HANDICAP (F & M) (For Fillies and Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAGICAL JAVA (M Winnaar) was fractious in the stalls, threw its head down as the start was effected, jumped awkwardly and lost five lengths. b) GOLIGHTLY (S Mbhele) reared continuously in the stalls, fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing two lengths and unbalancing the rider. c) HAMMIE'S FAN (C Bantam) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain fell before and during the running of this race. b) The stewards reviewed the start with regards to MAGICAL JAVA (M Winnaar) in stall gate 7 and established that this mare, after being restless in the stalls, had thrown her head down as the start was effected and as a result had lost ground at the start. MAGICAL JAVA (M Winnaar) had not been impeded and was deemed to be a runner. c) Jockey A Andrews (CRACKLING ROSE) briefly lost his right-side stirrup iron leaving the stalls. d) Jockey S Mbhele (GOLIGHTLY) lost both stirrup irons leaving the stalls which he only regained approaching the 1100m. GOLIGHTLY (S Mbhele) raced detached from the field in the early stages as a consequence. e) At the 700m ROCKET GIRL (R Khathi) raced onto the heels of VERONIQUE (D Ashby) and had to be steadied. f) The Clerk of Scales reported that all riders returned about 1kg over the weight at which they had been weighed out. The Stewards were satisfied this was as a result of the rain. g) In view of the report from the starter regarding MAGICAL JAVA (M Winnaar), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 28/11/2021 to 04/12/2021 inclusive). MAGICAL JAVA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. h) In view of the report from the starter regarding GOLIGHTLY (S Mbhele), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 28/11/2021 to 04/12/2021 inclusive). GOLIGHTLY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on VERONIQUE. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1500.00. j) LONG WHITE CLOUD (IRE), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
