At the 400m, TRAVEL IN STYLE was awkwardly placed between KINGSMAN which rolled out and OPEN FIRE, which was hanging in from the 400m. Thereafter, at the 150m, KINGSMAN was carried in by OPEN FIRE whilst both horses raced in close quarters to the finish. A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by the Rider of the second placed horse, KINGSMAN, against the winner, OPEN FIRE, on the grounds of interference and intimidation from the 400m. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Board overruled the objection. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered that, the distance between 2nd and 1st at the finish was 0.50, notwithstanding the incident, KINGSMAN appeared to have every opportunity to race past OPEN FIRE in the concluding stages but failed to make up any significant ground and from the footage, and in particular the side-on angle, it appeared that OPEN FIRE always had the measure of KINGSMAN. Consequently, the Board could not be satisfied that but for the above incident, KINGSMAN would have finished ahead of OPEN FIRE, therefore it overruled the objection and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey Yeni's deposit was refunded. OPEN FIRE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SEVILLE - speedy cut right fore bulb and left hind fetlock.
