THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At approximately the 1200m, SECRET LINK (M Yeni) and GRAND DESTINY (C Maujean) were carried out by FORWARD SPELL (W Kennedy) which commenced to over-race proving difficult to assist.
b) At approximately the 400m, FORWARD SPELL (W Kennedy) had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of SECRET LINK (M Yeni) which was hanging in despite the efforts of Jockey Yeni to keep his mount on a straight course.
c) GRAND DESTINY (C Maujean) over-raced in the early stages and thereafter shifted both ways away from the crop from the 400m.
d) WAVE WARRIOR (R Munger) hung out from the 200m.
e) In the concluding stages, SECRET LINK (M Yeni) was bumped outwards on two occasion by MAGNUM P I (C Zackey) which shifted out away from the crop.
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by him on behalf of the second placed horse SECRET LINK (M Yeni) against the winner MAGNUM P I (C Zackey) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the race and hearing all the evidence put forward by the connections, was of the opinion that SECRET LINK (M Yeni) would have finished in front of MAGNUM P I (C Zackey) barring this incident and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result to read as follows:
1st 4 SECRET LINK (M Yeni)
2nd 1 MAGNUM P I (C Zackey)
3rd 9 ABAYYAAN (B Fayd'Herbe)
4th 2 WAVE WARRIOR (R Munger)
5th 8 FORWARD SPELL (W Kennedy)
f) Jockey G Lerena reported that MASTER OF COIN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt
g) MAGNUM P I (C Zackey), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Sham advised (LN).
