THE STARTER REPORTED A) SECOND ACT was unruly at the start, stubborn loading, was slow away and lost 1 length.\ B) MAGIC TO THE FORE rushed the front gate and was nervous in the stalls. C) OPULENCE kicked the back gate in the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. Trainer A C Greeff was advised to re-school this filly prior to its next engagement. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 300m, SAVANNAH WINTER (X Ndlovu) switched in to obtain a clear run. Thereafter, in the concluding stages SAVANNAH WINTER shifted out away from the crop. B) Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with MAGIC TO THE FORE in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey X Ndlovu signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused the crop by striking the horse SAVANNAH WINTER more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R1000 fine was imposed. D) The winner OPULENCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) ROMANOFF raced equipped with blinkers (07:15 - 03/12/2021). B) TWENTY FOUR KAY raced equipped with a compression mask (10:10 - 29/11/2021). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) MAGIC TO THE FORE mouth injury in stalls. B) DAME COLLEEN abnormal respiratory noise (mild). THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
