THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IRIS (G Cheyne) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 800m ROLL IN THE HAY (A Domeyer) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between IRIS (G Cheyne) and KEEP THE LIGHTS ON (G Lerena). b) At the 250m GIMME DAT (G van Niekerk) steadied off the heels of IRIS (G Cheyne) and was directed outwards to obtain clear running. c) At the 200m PHIL'S DANCER (R Fourie) had to be steadied away from the heels of CAPITANA (A Marcus) which was improving on the outside of PHIL'S DANCER (R Fourie), shifted in suddenly and had to be straightened. d) In the concluding stages SWEET FUTURE (B Fayd'Herbe) and SANTA MARIA (K de Melo) brushed on two occasions. e) Jockey B Fayd'Herbe, the rider of SWEET FUTURE, reported this filly choked up in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. f) KITTY CAT CHAT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Donnelly, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised. (CvA) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) CAPITANA raced without ear muffs (declared 10h31 on 20211203) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SWEET FUTURE - examined post-race. Blowing post-race b) ROLL IN THE HAY - abnormal respiratory noise detected post-race. Choked up c) KITTY CAT CHAT - brush wound left hind and coughing post-race THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
