THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SOFIA ERIN (*C Dicken) kicked the back gates, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and re-loaded.
b) ARCTIC PRINCESS (W Kennedy) was stubborn to load. Trainer G Rich will be advised to re-school this mare.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) The front numbers on the starting gates were incorrect as the spare starting gate on the inside was allocated draw 1, rather than being left un-numbered. This resulted in the horses visually loading one number higher than the allocated draw. However, the Stipendiary Board was satisfied that none of the runners were prejudiced by this visual mis-representation. The matter has been referred to the starting team and Gold Circle maintenance team, both of which were advised to ensure there is not a similar occurrence moving forward.
b) Apprentice S Hlengwa (CASA ROSADA) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride.
c) Apprentice D Geerthsen (TWICEASFAST) appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised to ensure that he rides his mounts out to the end of the race so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards.
d) BABY AFRICA (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Dixon advised (SC).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) ARCTIC PRINCESS was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (advised 08.12.21/9h06).
b) MAGICALLEE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 07.12.21/11h01).
c) DUNYAA (AUS) raced with a compression mask.
d) MOOBHEERA raced with a compression mask.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER :
a) Nil.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED :
a) BABY AFRICA : Brush wound right hind.
b) MOOBHEERA : Speedy cut left hind.
