THE STARTER REPORTED
A) FRANCA, BLINDLOVE and OLIVINE were nervous in the stalls.
B) FLAMING LASS was stubborn loading and bumped shortly after the start. The starting stall certificate for this mare is withdrawn.
C) TALIA AL GHUL bumped shortly after the start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) The saddle on SUPER SIRI (L Mxothwa) slipped backwards in the running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. Thereafter, Jockey L Mxothwa reported that SUPER SIRI coughed post-race. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
B) Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with FLAMING LASS in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 150m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FLAMING LASS (W Kennedy), this mare's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 11 December 2021 to 17 December 2021 both days included. FLAMING LASS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G D Smith was advised.
D) Apprentice Y Ramzan reported that he felt something amiss with HEREINAFTER in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
E) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning HEREINAFTER (*Y Ramzan), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Assistant Trainer L Gila on behalf of Trainer K Naidoo was advised.
F) The winner FRANCA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES
A) SUPER SIRI raced equipped with a tongue tie (07:40 - 09/12/2021).
B) FLAMING LASS raced without ear muffs and equipped with a compression mask (09:50 - 08/12/2021).
C) BLINDLOVE raced equipped with a compression mask (10:32 - 06/12/2021).
D) SUBTERFUGE raced equipped with blinkers (08:08 - 10/12/2021).
THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED
A) HEREINAFTER bilateral epistaxis, 60 days suspension applies.
B) TALIA AL GHUL abnormal respiratory noise (mild).
C) SUPER SIRI coughed post-race.
D) FLAMING LASS examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
