THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m WHATSINADREAM (A Domeyer) was unable to secure a run between the inside running rail and DAWNOFANEWDAY (K de Melo), was directed outwards and brushed HAMMIE'S FAN (D Ashby) outwards at the 300m. Shortly thereafter CALL IT FATE (G Cheyne) had to be steadied away from the heels of HAMMIE'S FAN (D Ashby) which was directed outwards to avoid the heels of a tiring DO SI DO (*J Solomons). b) DAWNOFANEWDAY (K de Melo) was continually held up for a clear run in the straight. c) In view of the performance of MEL'S PRINCESS (O Noach) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) WHATSINADREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
