THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOUVAIN (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Following the running of race 4, in consultation with the Jockeys, the track condition was changed to soft. b) BAT OUT OF HELL (G Lerena) hung in badly from the 300m. c) GOLDEN ASPEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (GF). When questioned regarding the poor performance of GOLDEN ASPEN on 2 November 2021, Trainer C Spies was unable to provide any suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running and he was advised that should this filly not maintain consistent form going forward, it may be suspended. d) LEE EXPRESS, placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (HK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LEE EXPRESS raced with a pressure halter (declared 7 December 2021 at 10H30). b) LOUVAIN raced with a compression mask (declared 7 December 2021 at 10H42). c) BAT OUT OF HELL raced equipped with alumites in front, three-quarter alumites behind and a compression mask (declared 9 December 2021 at 08H31). d) LADY CALAVERA raced with a pressure halter (declared 10 December 2021 at 10H57). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LADY CALAVERA abnormal respiratory noise. b) LOUVAIN brush wound right hind, SCRATCHED: a) TERRA TIME insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) NO TIME IS TAKEN insufficient recovery time (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). c) GILDA GRAY reserve runner.
