THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STORMY WINTER (D Dillon) was slow into stride. b) WONDERWALL (A Arries), ROCK OF AFRICA (J Gates) and NORDIC REBEL (J Penny) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) STORMY WINTER (D Dillon) hung in from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey D Dillon reported that he felt something amiss with STORMY WINTER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) At approximately the 100m, Jockey D Schwarz felt something amiss with MILL QUEEN and eased her out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this mare on return to stables. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that ROCK THE GLOBE changed stride continually in the running.
