(SN) b) Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse GUY FOX more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey G Wright struck the horse GUY FOX, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R750 was imposed. c) Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3, in that as the rider of GUY FOX, he failed to ride this horse out to the end of the race, to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Accordingly, a fine of R1000 was imposed. d) In the concluding stages, QUIZ MASTER (A Mgudlwa) and ONE SHOT WONDER (W Kennedy) came together and bumped. e) In view of the performances of BIM BAM BUDDY (M Mjoka) (distance, 40/1 in the betting) and REEF BOUND (S Brown) (24.90 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) The All Clear was delayed due to SAFTOTE incorrectly representing the results under the description of the horses with their numbers. g) JOSHUA HOTSNAKE (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
